Amrita Rao

Operations Director

Role activities & responsibilities: My current role at Redware encompasses a variety of responsibilities spanning multiple teams. Having developed a deep understanding of the product since joining the company in 2016, I am actively engaged in all aspects of the product development sphere. Along with contributing to the evolution of product ideas and facilitating requirements definition, I also direct team resources appropriately across multiple workstreams to support delivery of those ideas as features.

While I primarily organise and support the Development, Quality Assurance and Customer Service teams, I also frequently work with the Account Director and engage directly with the Customer where required to act as a bridge between the Technical team and the Customer facing team. This regular interaction with almost every level of stakeholder within the company affords me the privilege of seeing the whole picture from concept to customer use and has allowed me to build strong working relationships across the board. I find this invaluable in my role.

Monitoring the health of projects, mitigating risks, prioritising team tasks and eliminating impediments to progress are key to my role. I strive to keep people and projects moving in the right direction and support the teams in adapting to changing circumstances and customer needs so we don’t lose momentum. If I expect my team to deliver the goods, I also demand the same of myself alongside them. This means along with facilitating the progress of work, I take the responsibility of motivating and appreciating the team as seriously. We work hard as a team and celebrate the big and small wins together.

Why Redware?: I choose to work at Redware for several reasons. The people – I think we have a really great team of people who are hard workers but fun to work with. We learn from each other and push each other forward, but we work to common goals. I enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. The challenges are always new, and I like to negotiate solutions to pave a way through each challenge. I believe in what we can offer – as a product, as a team, as a service. I enjoy working in an industry that has so much change coming – the LMS industry is poised to transform over the coming years, and I would like to be a part of it because it means I get to learn and develop personally.

What motivates you in the world of LMS?: I think there is so much potential and scope for growth in the world of LMS – I find the idea of being able to see how far we can take online training exciting. From Augmented Reality to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, there is so much to watch in this space.

Redware is also a company that truly values the team. This is the first company in my career where Redware truly lives by their values. I value that immensely.

What motivates you in the world of LMS?: The opportunity to provide and prove improved performance to learners and the enterprise as a whole. To be part of an essential sector providing support alongside key changes and shifts in team integration and learning, since the need to support remote and homeworking as an impact of COVID.
